Priscilla Tey CV

Priscilla Tey received a BFA (first class honours) in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) (USA) in 2015 and was awarded the RISD Joseph Lefevre Memorial Award for excellence in Illustration upon graduating. During that time, she secured her first double book deal with Candlewick Press (USA) for In-Between Things and Twitchy Witchy Itch and signed with Steven Malk from the reputable Writers House Agency.

Storytelling has always been central to Tey’s practice and she enjoys being versatile in the types of tales she tells and how she tells them visually. Her passion for film and animation saw her venture into concept art and storyboarding for film and animation early on in her career. Today, Tey continues to illustrate for various clients and brands, creating new visual experiences and narratives in traditional, print, and digital media. She has previously created art for the SG Formula 1 Grand Prix, Singapore Tourism Board, Tatler Magazine, Singapore Writers Festival, The Arts House, The Warehouse Hotel, Plansponsor Magazine, and Cricket Media, to name a few. Her illustrations have also been part of jury selections for the Society of Illustrators Annual 65 (New York, 2023), Communication Arts International 2023 Competition (CA, USA) and she received a merit award at the 3x3 International Illustration Show No. 19 (New York, 2022).

Throughout her personal and commissioned work, Tey often injects her art with whimsy, humour, or fantasy, in the hopes that her images can encourage others to find intrigue in the seemingly ordinary. She does all this whilst maintaining her curious obsession with sheep at healthy levels.
