MIYUKI YOKOMIZO 横溝美由紀 CV

Miyuki's artistic process is a powerful and impactful one. She uses repetition of visual elements to create an experience that challenges our perception. Her work features geometric patterns, spherical shapes, and horizontal and vertical lines repeated in large quantities, and she prefers industrial materials to natural ones due to her upbringing in Tokyo during the 60s. This preference shapes her aesthetic, which is defined by a desire to create an atmosphere of vast, "multiple-simplicity" that engages viewers and fosters a sense of uncertainty about what they are seeing. Miyuki's work is not to be missed by anyone interested in exploring the boundaries of art and perception.

My art evokes that “which is invisible to the eyes.” Visible, however impossible to touch. Invisible but existent. A sign in life, an indication of the ambiguous. One recognises it. How ever one can not be certain. I attempt to express vague existence.
