Agnes Lim

About

Agnes Lim (b. 1977, Singapore)

Agnes Lim is a practicing ceramics artist, working primarily with porcelain. Her connection to clay began in 1996 with an introductory course in pottery-making at the Temasek Polytechnic School of Design led by renowned Singapore ceramicist Dr Iskandar Jalil, and was cemented when she began apprenticing under the master potter in 2002. Her approach is greatly influenced by his progressive attitude to pottery-making, which underlines the importance of constantly pushing past the boundaries.
Lim has been a practicing ceramics artist and private instructor at Temasek Potters since 2010, an artist-led ceramics studio and teaching centre led by Dr Iskandar. A 2016 Taiwan Ceramics Biennale finalist, she has participated in various group exhibitions since 1997, and has previously been thrice featured in Ceramic Expressions since the inaugural edition in 2017
